Stephen Spurrier Awarded Invest In Others $20,000 Grant for Ending the Silence Program

Stephen Spurrier Awarded Invest In Others $20,000 Grant for Ending the Silence Program

MORRISTOWN, N.J., Dec. 2021

Private Advisor Group, one of the leading Registered Investment Advisors in the U.S., announced that affiliated financial advisor, Stephen Spurrier, founder of Old Orchard Wealth Solutions has secured a $20,000 grant for National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Metropolitan Baltimore. Spurrier and NAMI were one of six grant recipients through Invest in Others’ 2021 Grants for Good program which provides funding for a wide array of charitable programs for nonprofits in need nationwide.

Spurrier, a lifelong Baltimore resident, is known for helping people pursue their financial goals. When not running his financial practice, he’s active in a variety of community organizations and currently serves as President on NAMI’s Board of Directors. He’s held previous roles as the Treasurer, Vice-President, and has been actively involved with the nonprofit since 2015. He initially discovered the program as a participant taking the NAMI Family-to-Family class in support of his son.

The $20,000 grant he secured will support NAMI’s Ending the Silence education and awareness program which helps participants to know the signs of a mental health condition and learn how to seek help.

Ending the Silence shares education and guidance about warning signs, facts and statistics, and the effects of stigma and negative perceptions about mental illness. The presentation is designed in three variations; for middle and high school students, parents and families, and teachers and school staff.

RJ Moore, Chief Executive Officer of Private Advisor Group said, “Awareness around mental illness and mental health issues is one of, if not the most, significant topics of our generation. It is vital that people receive help and support either directly for themselves or in understanding the impact this is having on those we care about most.” He continued, “Stephen’s dedication to spreading awareness and providing essential education can be life-changing and is crucial to so many in need. We’re honored to work alongside him and organizations like Invest In Others focused on improving the communities where we work and live. Congratulations to Stephen and NAMI.”
