Frank Smith is the Chief Executive Officer at Private Advisor Group. In this role, he is the strategic leader and culture architect for the firm. His core responsibilities include defining the company’s long-term goals, fostering an advisor-centric cultural environment, and cultivating strong relationships across the financial services profession. By setting a clear vision and empowering advisors, Frank drives the firm’s overall strategic direction.
Frank brings over 20 years of experience in financial services to the team. Prior to joining Private Advisor Group, Frank served as Director of Investment Solutions at CUNA Mutual Group and Senior Vice President of Enterprise Business Consulting and RIA Solutions at LPL Financial.
Frank earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and then a Graduate Certification in Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Penn State University. He holds FINRA series 7 and 66 securities registrations.
Frank serves as the Board Chair for Fit to Serve, a foundation supporting mental, financial, and physical health for advisor communities. Frank actively supports various philanthropic causes important to Private Advisor Group and our profession. Locally, he is an advocate for the education and athletic programs at Lake Pointe Academy in York, SC and serves at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill, SC.
Frank lives in Rock Hill, SC with his wife and two children. Outside of work, he enjoys recreations such as boating, aviation, and golf.
