John Hyland

Managing Director, Strategic Partner Relations

John Hyland is one of the co-founders and is a managing director at Private Advisor Group. In this role, he aids other advisors in building a successful independent advisory practice and speaks on topics of business strategy, industry outlook, and the value of perseverance. He brings over 25 years of experience in financial services to the team.

Prior to joining Private Advisor Group, John focused on retirement and estate preservation planning and asset management at American Express Financial Advisors. Then he created Morristown Financial Group with Pat Sullivan which grew into Private Advisor Group.

John earned a Bachelor of Arts from St. Bonaventure University. He holds FINRA series 7, 24, and 63 securities registrations with a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.

He is a trustee with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and past president of the board for the Leukemia Society of New Jersey. In addition, he has served as Grand Marshall and the major gifts chairman of the Morris County St. Patrick’s Day Parade, chaired the finance committee as a member of the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s board of trustees, and is an active member of the board for the Mayo Performing Arts Center, and serves as a board member of Invest in Others organization.

John lives in Morristown, NJ with his wife and three children.
